Alexandra Oudheusden is Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Coordinator of the Adaptive Sports & Recreation Program at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, NY. She has a Master’s of Science in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a focus in Therapeutic Recreation from Southern Connecticut State University. She has worked with a diverse population of individuals with differing abilities, ages and backgrounds. Alexandra is dedicated to helping people heal using a holistic perspective and by finding a unique pathway for each individual.
Alexandra has also been using Adaptive Yoga for 10 years as a therapeutic intervention with the in-patient population at Burke as well as teaching to the community through weekly classes in Adaptive/Seated Yoga, Slow-Flow Gentle Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, and private sessions at the Burke Smart Fitness Center. She has found the practice of Yoga to be very instrumental in creating positive change and self-awareness.
